The Marketing Association at San Jose State University exposes students of all majors to the exciting and ever changing world of marketing. By providing networking opportunities with industry leading professionals and colleagues, professional and personal development workshops, potential leadership involvement and community service initiatives, we aim to shape the next generation of business leaders.
The Marketing Association focuses on the following four pillars:
1) Professional Development: Exposure to industry leading marketing professionals and companies through company tours, speaker meetings and networking events.
2) Networking: Social events to network within the college of business and across other majors. Develop lasting relationships with driven SJSU students and faculty.
3) Leadership: Opportunities for leadership roles through board and committee positions. Help hone your marketing skills by becoming a part of the foundation of the SJSU Marketing Association team.
4) Community Service: Giving back is an essential part of who we are. As a student-run organization, we aim to strengthen our community and inspire our members to help and serve others in their daily lives and future careers.

The Marketing Association at San Jose State University is not affiliated with any national organization.
Membership in the organization shall be open to all those matriculated, currently enrolled San José State University students who are interested in membership. There shall be no other requirements for admission to regular membership. Each regular member has equal rights and privileges. All members of the organization must be matriculated, currently enrolled students at San José State University. No member of this organization shall engage in hazing, participate in hazing, or commit any act that causes or is likely to cause bodily danger, physical harm, or personal degradation or disgrace resulting in physical or mental harm to any fellow student or person attending this institution.
Ray Wei is a fourth year Marketing major who joined the Marketing Association his first semester of freshman year. Growing up in Pleasanton, California surrounded him with technology and business all his life. The new startups in the Silicon Valley influenced him to join a local downtown San Jose start up called Onerent Inc and later Facebook, Inc. The President focuses on growing the Marketing Association and it’s members.
Vice President: Jhonatan Mendoza
Jhonatan is a graduating senior studying Business Administration student with a concentration in Marketing. Jhonatan started his MA career in the Fall of 2015. He has been heavily involved in the SJSU community serving numerous positions including Orientation Leader and Resident Advisor. He currently works as the Social Media and Marketing Student Assistant for the Wellness Center, as well as a Peer Leader for the Lucas College of Business
Corporate Relations Director: Clint Johnson
Clint is a graduating senior that transferred from West Valley College to get my BS in Business Marketing. He is currently working for T-Mobile in retail sales but have had the opportunity of working with a small engineering firm that specializes in semiconductor market research. In his free time, you can catch him at most local events or taverns.
Marketing Director: Kevin Tran
Kevin is a senior studying Computer Engineering with a math minor. He enjoys diversifying his skillset with experiences ranging from being a Software Engineering intern at Western Digital to being a Digital Marketing intern at Impekable. He loves machine learning and hopes to one day replace all jobs with robots.
Creative Director: Ylan Tran
Ylan is a graduating senior double majoring Marketing and Graphic Design. She grew up in Los Gatos and appreciates the history and tech culture the South Bay has to offer. Her MA career began Fall 2014, but she wasn’t fully involved until Fall 2016, when she was accepted onto the MA Consulting Team. She currently works as a Graphic Designer for SJSU Associated Students and interns at ClothesOn. She recently was a junior designer for Quinstreet and an intern at Impekable.
Events Director: Jacqueline Go
Jacqueline is a senior in Business Marketing from Jersey City, New Jersey. She recently finished her internship at CBS Interactive as a Lead Generation intern, and is working as Events Associate at Associated Students.
Operations Director: Thao-My Ho
Thao-My is a 5th year International Business major concentrating in Global Operations Management with a minor in Global Innovation and Leadership. As the Director of Operations, she is responsible for expanding our organization on campus by managing student recruitment and professor outreach. Her past professional background includes positions in coordination, operations, event logistics, and customer service. One fun fact about her is that she studied abroad in Hong Kong for 6 months where she traveled to 7-8 different countries in Southeast Asia. In her spare time, she loves to travel, spend time outdoors, taking photographs, and running. When she’s not on campus, she’s making latte art on the weekends or exploring the Bay Area.
Treasurer: Nathan Rankin
Nate is a second year finance student from San Ramon in the East Bay Area. As the treasurer, he handle’s the clubs finances to ensure that we have enough funds to enjoy all of the great things that MA plans throughout the semester. Aside from this, he also works for NBC Bay Area in their community affairs department writing for their site and occasionally producing and narrating news segments. In his spare time, he enjoys going to the beach and attending to as many country concerts as possible!
Community Relations Director: Anthony Carducci
Anthony is a fourth year coming from Orange County in Southern California with a Marketing major and a Radio, Television, and Film minor. He just completed his second internship in Retail Client Services with Advantage Solutions. Anthony loves movies and chances are you can probably find him camping out for the new Star Wars. The Community Relations Officer is responsible for organizing community outreach events to help club members give back to the community.
